A murder has happened around the area of the itamar settlement, killing a whole family. They were all stabbed to death on March 11th. Israeli officials blamed Palestinians for the murders. No Palestinian group had claimed responsibility and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has described the killing as inhumane. The Israelis detained about 100 women and all young males of their 6,000-strong community. 30 people were still in jail.

The president of Israel told the UN that a vote for an independent Palestinian state won't bring peace because the United Nations can't guarantee Israel's security. The US led peace talks. The Palestinians say 120 countries in the world have already granted full recognition to Palestine, and a supporting statehood would almost certainly get more support, whereas the Security Council would likely be vetoed by the United States, which still supports a negotiation.
Arabs and Jews have been killing eachother for centuries. It's the same thing day after day and Julian Mer-Khamis was murdered. His mother was a Jew and his father was a Christian Arab, while some people think an Islamist assassinated him for this reason. They also think it's an Islamists because Julian worked for a theater that had men, women, girls, and boys mixed on the stage and in the audience, not seperate.
